The Wheelock CH90-24MCCH-FW High‑candela, Ceiling‑mount Chime
Strobe provides low current draw, choice of single-strike or vibrating
operation, adjustable sound level, chime tone adjustable from 800 Hz to 1200 Hz,
and choice of two light output intensities (115 cd or 177 cd) in one unit. The
strobes can be synchronized using SM (single) or DSM (dual) modules. There is
also an attached mounting plate for easy indoor installation on a variety of
Sound Mode Settings
The chimes are factory set in single‑stroke mode. They can be changed to
vibrating mode before wiring by moving a jumper.
The minimum input pulse duration must be at least
160 ms on and 160 ms off. The chime only operates once
each time it is pulsed. Use this mode for coded systems.
Apply continuous input voltage to the chime to activate
the chime at 1 sec intervals.
The unit comes set at 177 cd. Change the setting using
a screwdriver in the slot in the unit's base (setting is
visible on indicator plate within the lens).
Volume and Tone Settings
The volume and tone controls are factory set to ensure
maximum dBA output; however, the volume and tone
can be tuned to suit a particular application. Take
appropriate measurements to ensure the volume meets
the listing requirements for private mode fire protective
service per UL464.
